Christmas Cookies with my brother!

A quick recipe for some AMAZING YUMMY CHRISTMAS COOKIES!!!!!


280g Plain Flour
225g Butter
140g Caster Sugar
1 Egg Yolk
1tsp Vanilla Extract
200g Icing Sugar
4-5tsp Cold Water

These decorations are great cause they look beautiful and Christmassy but are crispy so aren't those hard silver ones!!

Mix the butter and sugar into a bowl into it becomes light and fluffy

Add the egg yolk- But keep the egg white in a separate bowl for later!

Add the Vanilla Extract

And the flour!

Then mix all of the ingredients in the bowl together until combined!

Separate the dough into two balls and pop these into the fridge for 30-60 mins

After take the dough out and roll them on a baking sheet- Preferably with a rolling pin and not a lemonade bottle as I didn't have one!

Cut out the desired shapes with the cookie cutters and put them in the oven for 10-15mins on 190c /375f /Gas Mark 5

After the cookies are cooked take them out the oven and leave them to cool- they may not look cooked but they will once cooled so make sure they don't stay in for more than 15mins because they will burn!

To make the icing mix the icing sugar and water until you have a fairly stiff consistency- just keep adding water slowly to get to this.

Then its time to decorate which is everyone's favourite bit! especially the little ones!
